Understand the precise skills each student needs to achieve proficiency
Give students their very own tailored learning path.

This free, adaptive assessment enables educators and families to understand the subset of pre-, on-, and post-grade skills each student must learn in order to ensure they meet grade-level expectations.

Equip teachers and families with powerful adaptive technology
Student skills are assessed using proven psychometric techniques and state-of-the-art algorithms, and are responsive to a student’s performance on each question. Teach to One Roadmaps is built on a decade of research and practical experience in K-12 math.
A personalized roadmap of skills for every student
After taking the diagnostic assessment, each student receives a tailored roadmap aligned to achieving grade-level proficiency. These personalized pathways take into account the student’s current grade and skill competency. Skills can range from those typically taught as early as the 2nd grade to those taught in Algebra.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why should math be assessed at the skill level?
The impact of learning loss is especially acute in math. Experts estimated students returned to school in the Fall of 2020 nearly a full year behind due to the impacts of COVID-19 (source: The Brookings Institute). Because math is cumulative, learning gaps will compound if unaddressed (source: The Iceberg Problem). Roadmaps Free is a diagnostic assessment that identifies learning gaps in predecessor skills required to learn new skills and concepts at or beyond grade level.
How is Roadmaps Free different from other adaptive assessments?
Roadmaps Free provides a roadmap of the precise math skills a student must master, both grade-level and the relevant predecessor skills from prior years, going all the way back to the 2nd grade, in order to achieve either grade level or Algebra 1 proficiency.
When and where can students, teachers, and families access Roadmaps Free?
Roadmaps Free is available year round for immediate use upon signing up for a free account. The diagnostic assessment can be taken from home or at school.
Will this tool help students prepare for end-of-year state assessments?
Roadmaps Free is designed to help educators, students, and families understand what skills each student has or hasn’t learned. This data is applicable to state assessment readiness.
What are families expected to do with their child’s roadmap?
Families can track their child’s progress with Roadmaps Free. If their child’s school does not offer Roadmaps Plus, families can upgrade to Roadmaps Home to access lessons and tools from home that are specific to their child’s unique needs and strengths.
How often are students expected to take the Roadmaps Free diagnostic?
The diagnostic assessment can be taken up to three times a year (fall, winter, and spring). Roadmaps will only refresh when a student takes the diagnostic.
How is the assessment structure, formatted, and scored?
The 75 to 90 minute assessment dials in on the 147 skills related to Algebra, and includes components related to enrolled grade level skills. Testing covers related skills going back to the second grade. The diagnostic can also be administered in three parts over multiple days, if preferred. Questions are scored automatically and include multiple choice items, free response, and interactive response.
What does reporting look like for teachers?
Teachers can view individual student roadmaps.
Can this be used as a progress monitoring tool for IEPs?
Yes. You can monitor progress toward Algebra completion and enrolled grade proficiency (including predecessor skills) for each and every student.
What are the technology requirements of Roadmaps Free?
Student-level and most teacher-level features can be accessed via laptop, Chromebook, tablet, or mobile device with web access via standard browsers.
