U.S. Department of Education speaks to tailored acceleration
August 31, 2021
By U.S. Department of Education

In July of 2020, New Classrooms, creators of Teach to One, released a report on tailored acceleration called Solving the Iceberg Problem. The report spoke to the importance of tailored acceleration in personalized learning approaches, like Teach to One, and how incorporating high-quality, teacher-led instruction with other instructional approaches allows students to access essential building-block skills from prior grades through individualized learning pathways. This idea was quoted by the U.S. Department of Education in their recent report, Strategies for Using American Rescue Plan Funding to Address the Impact of Lost Instructional Time. The Department’s report reinforces the benefits of using tailored acceleration to operationalize the principals of personalization.
