Albert Einstein described Emmy Noether as “the most important woman in the history of mathematics.” She was a German mathematician who made many significant contributions to abstract algebra and physics, including two theorems named after herself, which are fundamental in mathematical physics. Noether’s theorem helped scientists understand why some things stay the same in the world of physics.
